WHAT HASH IS AND HOW IT RELATES TO CANNABIS
The female cannabis plant will be our guide on discovering the true nature of hash. The physical structure is lush, fibrous, and leafy; allowing, the plant to contain a myriad of benefits and amino acids. The natural importance of the cannabis plant is found in the trichomes. Trichomes are responsible for generating the medicinal cannabinoids and aromatic terpenes that activate beneficial and calming experiences. Being in the hashish state is the period at which the trichomes part ways with the cannabis plant. This is achieved when the resinous and ripe gland heads that line the surface of the female sativa plant are collected and separated. In the past the process to obtain resin separation was very time consuming. However, the quick rise of cannabis legalization in the western part of the world has resulted in new methods of preparing hashish.
THE REAL ORIGIN OF HASH?
Originally, hashish is an Arabic word that roughly translates as ‘grass.’ Historians, believe that it was common and came about in 900 A.D. Some historians have argued techniques like “charas” or the gathering of resin from local cannabis farmer’s has been in existence before documentation. The early European exploration into the riches of Africa brought hashish into the western part of the world in the 19th century. Over the years, European doctors imported hashish to conduct wide range of research which led to the establishment of several methods of extraction. These methods of extraction have lead to further improvements in modern and holistic medications. In the 20th century, extraction of cannabis accounts for a large majority of the western pharmacopoeia. It was not until the early 20th century that the United States prohibition kicked in banning the products from western medicine. This made it readily available on the black market.
TYPES OF HASH
Hash was reintroduced into the western world in the 1960s. Countries like Morocco, Afghanistan and Nepal were heavily involved in exportation to the western countries. Different types of hash were being imported by the western countries from brick-like solids to hard-pressed hash created from pressure and heat. Hash can be used in several ways; traditionally, hash is orally consumed as solid or incorporated into consumables from pressure and heat beverages like bhang (an Indian traditional drink).
HOW TO USE HASH
Hash may also be smoked on its own or with additional cannabis flower. In addition, it can also be dabbed because of its ability to melt and vaporize on a hot surface of screens, this is to detect any carbon residue from resins. Similarly, hash oils of high quality (full melt ice water hash and full melt sift) can melt completely on a nail with the absence of residue. Smoking contraptions like the dab ring and pipe can be used to vaporize or smoke it. The highness from hash is stronger than that of cannabis, and the potency of the oil can range from 40% to 80% depending on its method of extraction.
